Timbuk2 was founded in 1989 by a bike messenger who taught himself to sew. In his San Francisco garage, Rob Honeycutt pioneered custom manufacturing and in doing so, created our icon, the Classic Messenger Bag.

But it was never really about bags. Rob saw Timbuk2 as a lifestyle, not a business, so he built the business to be bigger than a product and a team that was more family than workforce.
